Brand Guideline
A Brand Guideline is a document prepared by Portfolieu’s graphic design department that spells out the usage of your logo/brand. It includes things like typography, placement, color and style guidance to ensure a consistent brand is used across several mediums or platforms. Portfolieu’s Brand Guidelines include information associated with stationery (letterhead, envelopes, business cards), iconography, email signatures, etc.
Specification (Spec) Sheet
Every design Portfolieu Graphic Design sells comes with a specification sheet. It is different from a Brand Guidelines. It only contains details specific to the logo, i.e. color palette, typography (optional) and layout.
Typography
Typography is the typeface that is used in your brand/word mark. It is typically 2 – 4 fonts that have been identified by the designer as complimentary to the design. Typeface for headings versus text body are usually defined to ensure consistency of brand.
Favicon
Favicons are the logo icons that appear on the browser tab of your website to help visitors identify your business. They usually appear in the upper left hand corner of websites, and contribute to your branding experience.
RGB vs CMYK
Portfolieu will provide your designs in several different formats. You might wonder by we send 2 files of the exact same thing. One file may have been created as a RGB file which is suited for digital and web usage. CMYK files are suited for printing purposes.
